Michael Crawford

Managing Partner, CIO and
Portfolio Manager, Global Equities

After studying Chemistry and Law at Exeter University and accountancy at KPMG (London and Hong Kong), Michael undertook an MBA at Cranfield School of Management before joining Morgan Grenfell Asset Management in 1996. He subsequently worked for Bessemer Trust, Credit Suisse Asset Management and LV Asset Management. For the last seven years he has been managing a substantial Global Equity fund on behalf of clients at the oldest and one of the largest U.S. multi-family offices; Bessemer Trust. He has 25 years of investment management experience.  Michael is a fellow of the Securities Institute and the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.

David Forster

David started his career working in the media industry before moving into the City as an equity analyst at Chase Manhattan Securities. After spells at Kleinwort Benson and Merrill Lynch, he developed a wide following both from the fund management area and corporate management.  He then moved to Schroder Salomon Smith Barney where he co-managed a team of eight which was ranked first for media research for multiple years.  David went onto found and develop a media-focused hedge fund which delivered strong performance and gathered significant assets under management.

Kanthini Crawford

Business Support and Finance​

Kanthini has a degree in Economics, an MBA from the City University Business School and is a member of the Chartered Association of Certified Accountants and the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants.  She has occupied senior financial roles at Visa International and Walt Disney and Co after work in audit and accounting at Littlejohn Frazer and Goodman Jones.

David MacNeil

Business Development

After graduating with an MA in economics, politics and history from Glasgow University, David started work at Capel Cure Sharp which had just been bought by Gerrard Investment Management. He then joined HSBC Investments in the private client department before re-joining his former Gerard team at Barclays Wealth where he built up a portfolio of clients. In 2013, David co-founded and became a partner of Castlebay Investment Partners LLP and is responsible for managing client relationships, marketing and compliance well as being a member of the investment committee. David assists with business development activities at Chawton Global Investors.

David Ridland

Investment

David has covered both Japanese and UK equities during a career that started in 1997 at Ignis Asset Management.  During his early years as a fund manager, David developed his investment philosophy – focusing on owning high quality businesses for the long term.  This resulted in the development of his Quality value investment process.  During the depths of the financial crisis, David joined Barclays where he managed segregated funds and sat on the UK equity investment committee.  In 2013, David co-founded Castlebay Investment Partners.  As a partner of the business, he manages the VT Castlebay UK Equity launched in 2015.  David assists with investment research and portfolio management analysis at Chawton Global Investors.
